 Is 10:5-7, 13b-16

Gospel Mt 11:25-27

At that time Jesus exclaimed:

“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,

for although you have hidden these things

from the wise and the learned

you have revealed them to the childlike.

Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.

All things have been handed over to me by my Father.

No one knows the Son except the Father,

and no one knows the Father except the Son

and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

Reflections:

In this short passage from the Gospel Jesus sets before us a few very important truths. First of all, only the little ones, that is the simple innocent and humble can receive true wisdom and understanding which come from God. Second, the Father has given to Jesus who is the perfect revelation of God, all the power to preach and to work miracles. And third, no one knows the Father except Jesus and those to whom Jesus chooses to reveal him. If we know this truths and live according to them, then we are truly blessed.
